Adolescent programme with RCH

Adolescents are one of the vulnerable groups in Wayanad. They are facing many emotional, sexual and social problems like restlessness, hyper activity, depression, identity crisis, sexual abuse, use of drugs, suicidal tendency and lack of career guidance. They need freedom, love, recognition and encouragement from others. But most of the time they are misguided and misused by others. Though adolescents have many problems they can be brought up as a good individual if they are given good guidance and support from parents, teachers and others. The major reason for poor educational status is lack of awareness of parents about the importance of education and career of their children.

Realizing the facts, HiLDA started an adolescent programme called Yuvadhara-means flow of Youths, by organizing the adolescent students of the Akshaya members. The programmes include Reproductive and Child Health components including life skill learning. The programme is very successful in solving some of the pressing issues of the adolescent groups.
