Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has damaged not only the crops but also the fertility of the soil of Wayanad. Agriculture became profit oriented and this attitude has resulted in cash crop cultivations and hybrid verities of seeds. The microorganism has destroyed and the mud became like the concrete. This has created several problems to the human beings as well as the animals. The eco-system has changed and Wayanad is now witnessing the after effects.
