Eco-tourism (community tourism)

Eco-Tourism as HiLDA visualizes is simple: you can help the local people and still have a good holiday, simply by going on tours that involve local communities. Here Local economy, local culture and the environment matters.

The ‘ideal visitor’ should have an interest in local culture, likes nature, adventure, and ready to spend time in harmony with existing facilities, relaxation, rest, meditation and solitude and has some money to spend. HiLDA is trying to develop sustainable community tourism with the active involvement of the local people from different areas of Wayand so that both the visitor and the local community will be benefited.

HiLDA promotes mountain tourism in Wayanad and the two week package includes visit to the Wildlife Sanctuary, ancient caves, water falls, ancient temples, trekking, agri-tourism, introduction to the Indian system of medicine, yoga, besides site seeing trips to Ootty and Mysore.
